On June 26, Jin10 reported that Wall Street Journal reporters, "The Federal Reserve (FED) mouthpiece" Nick Timiraos and his colleague Brian Schwartz mentioned in a jointly published article that the premature announcement of the Federal Reserve Chair nominee could have adverse effects for both Trump and the nominee. This could put the incoming Chair in an awkward position: if they publicly criticize future colleagues they will work with at the Federal Reserve (whose support is crucial for their Senate confirmation), the market may perceive them as merely a sycophant catering to the President; on the other hand, if they choose to defend the Federal Reserve's policies, they may anger Trump and lose the position even before officially taking it up.
