Looking back at 2017, the confusion I felt when I first entered the world of Bitcoin makes me smile. At that time, I merely viewed Bitcoin as an investment to buy and wait for appreciation. However, after experiencing several rounds of market fluctuations, I suddenly realized: the biggest regret is not the high purchase price, but the failure to fully leverage the potential of Bitcoin during the holding period.
At the beginning of this year, I had the pleasure of meeting a seasoned player, Old Lin, who has been involved in the cryptocurrency space since 2013. During a conversation, I curiously asked him how he managed through the bear market. His answer enlightened me: "My Bitcoin is never idle; it generates profits for me every day."
Old Lin revealed a whole new world to me: it turns out that Bitcoin can not only profit from price increases but also generate cash flow continuously without selling. His strategy is quite clever - converting Bitcoin into a 1:1 pegged certificate with transparent on-chain reserves, allowing it to participate in broader financial activities.
He introduced me to several specific applications:
1. Invest in Real World Assets (RWA): Invest Bitcoin into an asset pool linked to short-term bonds and fund notes with USD, with an annualized yield of around 4%-5%, and not affected by coin price fluctuations.
2. Participate in on-chain staking: Let Bitcoin participate in network staking, with daily settlement of earnings, as if allowing Bitcoin to "work" for money.
3. Diversified Strategy Vault: Allocate Bitcoin to various strategies such as market making, arbitrage, etc., to pursue higher long-term returns.
In response to my concerns about security, Lao Lin explained that the platforms he chose have on-chain verifiable reserves and have undergone third-party audits. Most importantly, investors can exchange their certificates back to native Bitcoin at any time.
This exchange completely changed my understanding of Bitcoin investment. I realized that a truly wise investment strategy is not just about passive holding, but about how to continuously create value with assets. This shift in thinking undoubtedly opened a new chapter in my cryptocurrency investment journey.
