Recently, Elon Musk delivered an important speech at an AI entrepreneurship school event. He shared his views on topics such as the AI revolution, humanoid robots, and space exploration.
Elon Musk stated that he recently completed a short-term job in the government sector, considering it merely a "fun side quest." In contrast, the upcoming AI revolution is the truly important "main quest." He compared government work to "cleaning the beach," while AI is like a "thousand-foot-high tsunami."
Regarding the prospects for the development of AI, Musk made a series of bold predictions:
Musk emphasizes that a strict adherence to the truth is the most important cornerstone of AI safety. He believes that forcing AI to believe in untruths is extremely dangerous.
When it comes to space exploration, Musk stated that SpaceX plans to transport enough material to Mars within 30 years to make Mars self-sufficient. He believes that becoming a multi-planet species can greatly extend the expected lifespan of civilization.
Regarding neural connection technology, Musk believes it can effectively address the input-output bandwidth limitations of human-computer interaction, but it is not necessary for achieving superintelligence.
